PRE-ENGINEERED STEEL ERECTOR


General Description


We are currently looking for experienced Steel Erectors or Metal Building Systems Erectors to work under the direction of the Supervisor in the assembling and erecting of pre-engineered metal buildings. This position involves working on the installation of steel structural components and the building envelope, comprised of insulation and metal panels. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years of experience in the trade.


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Identify and move the building components to the assembly area
  • Lift and guide components into position using cranes
  • Install fiberglass insulation and metal cladding on walls and roof of structures
  • Install rigging
  • Hoist steel, attach cables and/or slings to each piece using levels, transits and laser equipment
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Work from elevated work platforms (EWPs or scissor lifts)
  • Work on the structure itself at heights beyond the reach of EWPs
  • Follow direction from the Site Supervisor
  • Follow all safety requirements of both the company and the project site
  • Report any unsafe working conditions to the Supervisor immediately
  • Other duties as assigned



Qualifications:


  • Two to three years’ experience in ironworking with pre-engineered buildings or conventional steel
  • Able to work at heights
  • Physically fit to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • High awareness of health and safety practices
  • Able to understand and follow instructions
  • Working at Heights training and Elevated Work Platform ticket are preferred; will provide training in these areas if necessary
  • Valid class G driver’s license with own vehicle is preferred
