General Description

The Concrete Estimator/Salesperson is responsible for the preparation of cost estimates by analyzing proposals and requirements of prospective project sites. This involves coordination and ordering for ICI construction projects. This role will also be responsible for business development and driving sales in our concrete division, by following up on leads and generating new business. This position will be based out of our Hamilton office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Estimate and coordinate the supply and erection, and/or general contracting of ICI construction projects and associated components
  • Calculate equipment and labour requirements to complete ICI projects using standard excel templates and knowledge of special items (i.e. camp, travel requirements and rates, cranes, man lifts, and equipment requirements and rates)
  • Work on developing new business through contacts and leads
  • Coordinate with customers and consultants to obtain missing information and to ensure that estimates are based on information that is accurate and complete as possible
  • Prepare estimates for presentation to prospective clients
  • Review all estimates with the Project Manager and make amendments as required
  • Attend all meetings to assist in the planning and coordination to ensure an efficient, problem–free process
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Post-secondary education in Architectural or Engineering Technology and/or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in estimating ICI and large general contracting jobs
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in managing and/or estimating large concrete jobs
  • Experience working in sales and business development
  • Proficiency with MS Office (including Word, Excel, & Outlook)
  • Strong mathematical and communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and blueprints
  • Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and job task planning skills
  • Previous experience in the concrete industry is considered an asset
